A Lifestyle Guide to Small Dog Life in a Big City

Meet the Congenial Chihuahas
Pepper and Zia at La Boulange on Fillmore
Two rescued chihuahuas who live in a fifth floor apartment in downtown San Francisco in what we call The Salon du Trendyloin.  They ride regularly on public transportation.  Go to the movies and dine in local restaurants on a regular basis.  Although they have no yard to call their own, these two chihuahuas live very well in the big city.   This is their blog.  Together they will tell their own 'tails' of the City by the Bay.  Where they go.  How they go.  What they wear and how they live the small dog's life in the Big City.

Today the San Francisco Chihuahua Meetup met at Pine Lake in the Stern Grove park.  This delightful dell was filled with all sorts of dogs, large and small.  Mostly chihuahuas, but other congenial dogs dropped by for a game of chase or fetch.
Pepper, is the new chihuahua in the Salon du Trendyloin pack, and she took full advantage of youth and good health by running around.  Her training is coming along very well and she came to mom when called.  Pepper even 'defended' mom when a big Lab puppy jumped up and put its muddy paws on Mom's waist.  Pepper took off after the big black dog and chased it around the field.  After two laps around the clearing, the Lab puppy turned the tables and overtook little Pepper.  Yikes!  That wasn't so much fun and the exhausted Pepper returned to her mom.
Zia, challenged by heart and lung problems, stuck around the people with food and managed to win everybody's heart with her winsome ways.
The Chihuahua Meetup is hosted by the fabulous Kate who was there sans pups this time, but we look forward to seeing her and all her dogs next month.
